Book Review: The Vanderbeekers of 141 St.

by Karina Yan Glaser

publisher’s synopsis

The Vanderbeekers have always lived in the brownstone on 141st Street. It’s practically another member of the family. So when their reclusive, curmudgeonly landlord decides not to renew their lease, the five siblings have eleven days to do whatever it takes to stay in their beloved home and convince the dreaded Beiderman just how wonderful they are. And all is fair in love and war when it comes to keeping their home.

When I picked up The Vanderbeekers of 141 Street., I was in the mood for a good, lighthearted contemporary novel. The Vanderbeekers satisfied that need.

I loved the characters in the book. They were all so great! Plus, the family interactions seemed realistic. I also loved how Miss Josie and Mr. Jeet were like adopted grandparents. The story was just so sweet!

If you want a sweet story about a family, definitely check out The Vanderbeekers of 141 Street.
