Three Back-to-School Reads

As summer comes to a close, it’s time to hit the books–both nonfiction and fiction. 😉 Here are some YA books featuring school settings to add to your TBR!

* Vivid by Ashley Bustamante ➡️ fantasy dystopian featuring a color-based magic system

* Enhanced by Candace Kade ➡️ futuristic China with genetic enhancements

* Wolf Soldier by James R. Hannibal ➡️ classic fantasy elements paired with strong Christian themes (also, I will concede that this one is more of a knight academy than a school)

Each of these books is the first in the series (with all of the books available now!), so hopefully you find one that piques your interest.

What’s one of your favorite reads with a school setting?

  1. I haven’t read a lot of school based fiction, but for those who enjoyed Harry Potter, Keepers of the Lost Cities is similar but has less of the arguing, and for better reasons. There is also no swearing.

  2. Another HP knockoff is the Magesterum series, which is really just a watered down version, though some may prefer it. There is only one real difference, and its not even a major one. I would rank the three KotLC < HP < Magesterum.
