Have you ever considered how magical reading truly is?
Think about how it brings readers together. I’ve made formed friendships with people I’ve yet to actually meet in person that formed simply because we loved the same book. Fandoms bring people together and unite them in a unique way, providing a common ground.
The fictional adventure of a made-up person in some nonexistent world can also impact with us in unique ways. There are certain lines and scenes from books that I remember very clearly because they resonated with me–I saw a part of myself in that character, or that line provided encouragement when I needed it.
And of course, there’s the magic of how books teleport us into those fantastical adventures. I’ve spent countless hours transported between the pages, an entire world come into life in my mind.
Books teach us, encourage us, and can remind us that we’re not alone. They stretch our imaginations, challenge us, and bring us together.
And books are just ink and paper. Letters and punctuation rearranged millions of different ways. Yet stories never really grow old.
They’re their own kind of magic.
