Welcome dear friend! Now, you may have already visited the About page and learned a few facts about me, but I would like to reintroduce myself to you here. After all, this is written in first-person and feels like a bit more personal of an introduction. Anyways!
My name is Hailey Huntington. I am a writer, reader, and Daughter of the King.
I’ll start with that last one first. I am a Christian. Jesus Christ is my Lord, Savior, and Treasure. I have been changed and made a new creation. The life I live, I now live for God and His glory.
Next, I am a writer! I dabbled in writing a little bit when I was younger, if writing 200 words once every five months can be considered dabbling. I always thought that writing a book would be so cool. When I was fourteen, a friend of my family loaned us a curriculum for writing a novella in a school year. We got it later in the school year, so during the second semester of my freshmen year of high school, I wrote a novella. It was about a girl who went to a school for spies. She, of course, got involved in stuff that lead to her having to save the world.
While the description I just wrote about it makes it sound terrible, it wasn’t that bad. I learned a lot about the writing craft and just writing in general. It was my first big writing project. Actually, it was the first writing project I did and finished outside of stories for school. I had tried writing books but never really got any further than the dabbing I did when I was younger. I didn’t know about plotting and all of the others things necessary to writing a novel.
Finishing that novella showed me that I could write a book and that I really enjoyed writing. Writing jumped up into the list of things I could pursue after graduation.
After that, I wrote short stories, novelettes, and novellas. I didn’t write my first full-length novel until November of 2018, when I did NaNoWriMo for the first time.
That was a huge milestone for me in that I wrote an actual, full-fledged book in a month! I could do this! I could write!
Since then, I have continued to write and grow as a novelist.
I am a reader! I love reading. Like love, love, love, love reading. I have always been a reader and always will be. As a reader, I have gone through lots of books and continue to do so. You can find reviews of books I have read on here! Look at the top for the Book Reviews tab or click here.
And of course, there are dozens of other random things about me. I love music and play multiple instruments. I love dark chocolate and chewy cookies. I enjoy going for bike rides and soaking up the sun. My family is full of board game fanatics. I have a witty streak in me and often use way too many emojis.
