Be Inspired

Did you know that today is National Inspire Your Heart with Art day?

Art takes so many forms—literature, music, dance, artwork—and I love how all the various aspects of art and creativity can inspire and move us. It amazes me how God has created us with imaginations and made us to reflect His own creativity as sub-creators.

So today, pause to enjoy some art, and let yourself be inspired. Listen to music. Read a good book. Look at a classic painting. And let your own creativity run—scribble down a story idea, sketch in a notebook, hum a new melody.

What are some ways that art inspires you?

  1. I get inspired by the mystery of art. What happens after the story, before it, or a side story. I’m curious what beautiful scene can come from something stale or boring.

When I read or watch a story, I imagine what the other characters are thinking or doing at that time. I also imagine how my own made up characters can be injected into their universe, then develop a whole side story, back story, and future story with them.

I like drawing images where the picture changes. I am curious what image will appear when you draw a line between letters or words. It could create beautiful mountain scapes, a mysterious cave, a desert oasis, an ancient city, a waterfall, etc. all hidden in that one page of words.
