A while ago, I was talking with my boss about how I’m a writer, and said that writing is a long game career. And it really is.
Writing a first draft takes time. Editing takes time. Honing your craft takes time. Querying takes time. Getting a contract takes time. Formatting, cover design, getting endorsements, marketing—it all takes time. Indie publishing takes time. Traditional publishing takes time.
If you’re in writing for a career, be ready to wait. You’ve got to be in it for the long haul.
So take heart, writer. Just because things are taking a long time doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong or you won’t make it. Writing simply takes time. ❤️
