But without further ado, here are some updates from the writing front!
Brontide
If you don’t know, Brontide is the novel I’m currently on. It’s a YA fantasy, with light fairy tale echoes. Some comps titles for it are The Luck Child by Rebekah Schafer and The Twelve Dancing Princesses.
Right now, I’m slowly working on editing the first draft of Brontide and will be getting beta readers soon. I have a developmental edit booked with author Sara Ella for Brontide next year, which is exciting!
So yeah. Brontide is my main WIP that I’m focusing on at the moment, and we’ll have to wait and see what happens with it!
Publishing
No, I don’t have a book getting published. But I have short stories getting published!
I have another short story on on Havok TODAY! This musical story was super fun to write, and the Havok editorial team really liked it. So I hope you love it! This is my first Mystery Monday story that I’ve had published, and I’ll now have had a story published on every Havok weekday category!
Remember, Havok’s daily story is free to read for one day only. After that, you can read it if you get a membership, which is only $5 for the entire year! Plus, if you get a membership, you can read the other stories I’ve had published by Havok.
And I’ve got another story coming to Havok in November! If you’re a waffle fan, like I am, you’ll probably enjoy it. 😉
I also had a flash fiction story accepted into Twenty Hills Publishing’s Valentine’s Day anthology! It’s a sweet little piece about an elderly couple and love that lasts. It almost made my sister cry–a fact I wear as an author badge of honor. The anthology isn’t coming out until 2023, but I’ll try to keep you up to date on release news.
In other anthology news, I’m waiting to hear back about a mermaid anthology that I submitted to in August. And there are several anthologies that I’ll be submitting stories to soon. So fingers crossed that I make it in!
