Summer is officially here! It is getting hot and the sun is shining! I hope you all are having a wonderful summer so far, filled with lots of books and writing.
Reading Recap
I read nine books during June. My favorite was probably either Emberhawk by Jamie Foley or The Winterborne Home for Vengeance and Valor by Ally Carter. One is YA and the other middlegrade, and they are completely different in plot and style, but both were really enjoyable.
I also bought a few books that I’m excited to dive into and won a book giveaway. So that’s cool. Free books are always awesome.
Writing Recap
My goal going into June was to hopefully reach the point in my outline for YWW Author where I would be allowed to start writing it. I am super close to having this outline finished. It is super tight (or at least that’s what I get told). However, I came up with an idea for a change to my magic system a few days ago, and now I’m fleshing that out and making the necessary changes to my plot.
I am so excited to write this novel. I think it’s going to be really cool. I just hope that I write it as well as it is in my head.
I’m plugging away steadily at Story Teller! I have about five chapters left to write. And I have now officially destroyed my main character’s life. I’m such an evil author. But it’s all for the sake of the story. I feel no regret.
I wrote 11,584 words in Story Teller this month as part of the Go Teen Writers 100 for 100 challenge. The challenge is really helping me stay on top of writing something in Story Teller every day. Goals are really helpful for me in my writing.
Also, I should be launching my email newsletter soon! I just need to work a little with my editor/sister (it’s a great combo) on a short story that will be given to everyone who signs up, and then I’ll be about good to go!
How was your June? I hope you all are having a book-filled summer!
