Happy New Year everyone! It is hard to believe that 2019 is gone and that 2020 is here!
2019 was a pretty big year for me when it comes to my writing. In 2019 I:
- Started Façade in February
- Started to create this website in March
- Wrote 100,000 words of Façade by the end of May
- Finished Façade in June
- Attended Realm Makers in July
- Won NaNoWriMo in Novemeber
And of course, there were other smaller writing achievements in there, such as writing several short stories and such.
Looking back over the writing goals I made at the beginning of 2019, I did a decent job on completing them. Now, I am transferring some of the uncompleted ones over to my list of goals for 2020, as well as adding some new ones.
Some of my goals for this year include:
- Writing a few more novelettes for A Row of Glass Slippers
- Drafting Story Teller
- Doing some edits on Fyrons Flames or Façade and getting it into the hands of beta readers
- Attend another writing conference
- Doing NaNoWriMo again
When it comes to books, 2019 was also a good year. I found several new books this year that I adore and revisited old books too.
I read Les Miserables this year, which I am pretty sure has to be the longest book I read this year, and possibly the longest book I’ve ever read. It is a huge book. But also really good.
This year was the first time I tracked how many books I read in a year, and I ended with a total of 126 books including re-reads, and 121 (if I counted right) books not including re-reads. This year, I am going to try and expand my literary horizons by doing a reading challenge put out by Redeemed Reader, a Christian book review site I frequent (you should check it out!).
Looking ahead, I am excited for 2020. I can’t wait to see what is in store for me.
What are you excited for this new year, friend? What are some of your 2019 accomplishments?
